This is a well written book with great advice. Being a drummer, I thought this book would be a joke but was pleasantly surprised. Not only does the author cover the technical aspects of percussion (i.e. standard rudiments, rock and jazz grooves, tuning tips, etc..) but the interviews are wonderful too. It's a treat to get advice from a legendary drummer such as Hal Blain. Don't pass this little gem up. Michael Miller did his homework and offers great advice for the novice (I'm not a novice and learned a thing or two). Enjoy!

A.R. Rahman won a Golden Globe for his score in Danny Boyle’s “Slumdog Millionaire” on Sunday, becoming the first Indian composer to strike gold at the annual Hollywood awards. The story of a “Slumdog” becoming a millionaire through a Q&A contest and portraying the events of his life that made him learn the answers to the questions in the contest has captured the hearts of many and the slew of awards is just another indication of the movie’s success. A.R.Rahman’s music is a major highlight of the movie and works synergistically with some amazing direction from Danny Boyle. The Golden Globe Awards are given out by some 90 members of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. . The Indian presence at Golden Globe was even greater this year with Shah Rukh Khan presenting an award; another first. Slumdog millionaire has also won the Best Screenplay award for Simon Beaufoy. The movie has become a phenomenon in the last two months and has won over 55 awards so far and is expected to fare well in the Academy Awards as well.
Electro Harmonix unleashed a new model with a very surprising name but not much info, the Electro Harmonix Bass Blogger Distortion Pedal, I don’t know if the name has been chose to get repercussion in blogs but the name it’s not the better one for a pedal effect. Besides its the metal durable look the pedal allows you to dialog with your drummer, as said in the official site, but this really could mean anything.
The Electro Harmonix Bass Blogger Distortion Pedal is indeed a fuzz and distortion pedal that features volume, tone and distortion controls, on/off footswitch pedals, 2 different outputs one (dry) with the unmodified signal and another one (effect) that goes through all the circuit, the pedal is powered by a 9V DC input.
I’d like to have some more info from companies when they are releasing new products, but this seems to be a impossible task for some of them. Of course there is no info on price or availability of the Electro Harmonix Bass Blogger Distortion Pedal.

Don - The Chase Begins Again, directed by Farhan Akhtar, is a remake of the blockbuster 1978 film, Don. The film was released in India on October 20, 2006 and it was also simultaneously released internationally. The script of the previous film was written by Akhtar's father,Javed Akhtar and Salim Khan.
The film stars Shahrukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Arjun Rampal, Ishaa Koppikar and Kareena Kapoor in a guest appearance. Eighty percent of the movie was shot in Malaysia, and was filmed around the tropical Langkawi island as well as the Petronas Twin Towers and the Jalan Masjid India area, which is the 'little India' of Kuala Lumpur. Akshay Kumar was offered for the role of Jasjit but he rejected saying he might have accepted if he was offered the part of Don. Shahrukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra underwent special martial arts training for their roles in the movie.
